Custom-decorated Cupcakes — Do you do custom-decorated cupcakes?

Yes, we do custom-decorated cupcakes. We can do custom fondant decorations on orders of a dozen or more cupcakes. Please ask for a quote and we would be pleased to provide one.  We are often very busy, so please book at least one week in advance for a custom-decorated order. All custom orders must be pre-paid. 


we deliver

Delivery & Shipping — Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver in the Ottawa area. Generally, the delivery fee ranges from $15 to $40. Delivery to places outside the Ottawa area requires a separate e-mail or over-the-phone quote. Delivery is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Please allow a two hour delivery window. Customer understands that inclement weather, road construction, and traffic conditions are beyond anyone's control and can affect delivery time. We do not currently ship nationwide. Customer understands and agrees that we cannot make more than one delivery attempt if no one is available to accept their order. 

Donations — Can you help our charity and/or fundraiser?

We would love to help. However we're supporting as many causes and charities as we can at the moment (about 10 as listed on the Community page of our web site) including helping feed Ottawa’s homeless at three different missions.

Events  — How do we place an order for an event or make enquiries about one?

You can order online, send us an email to info@thecupcakelounge.com, call 613-862-0926 and select option 1, or come visit us in person.

Consultations should be booked one or two weeks in advance. We are available for consultations at our Westboro store Mondays through Saturdays from 11 am to 3 p.m. Please note that we do not provide consultations on Sundays.

Events  — Can we buy or rent stands?

Yes, we rent stands. You can also buy them. We have disposable or recyclable stands available in our signature chocolate brown colour made from recyclable paper that are perfect for events.

In terms of rentals, our permanent acrylic or pewter stands are also beautiful, custom-made exclusively for us, and are expensive. If stand rental is needed, a refundable security deposit of $300 is required at least one week prior to the event date in order to ensure safe return of the stand in question. This can be provided in the form of a cheque or by credit card.

Once the stand leaves our possession, you assume all liability and responsibility for its condition. We will return your deposit when the stand is returned to us in original condition no later than one week after the event date.

 


50 different flavours!

Flavours  — How many different flavours can I order?

We offer approximately 50 different flavours of cupcakes throughout the year  including flavours that are available on a daily, weekly and monthly or seasonal basis. For in-store orders, you can order as many different flavours as you wish subject to availability. With larger pre-orders for weddings and events, it's one flavour per dozen so for example, if you are ordering 10 regular dozen cupcakes, you can order up to 10 different flavours or, if you're ordering 5 dozen mini-cupcakes, you can order up to 5 different flavours.



baked fresh daily

Freshness  — How long can we keep the cupcakes before eating?

Our cupcakes are baked fresh the morning of your purchase and contain no artificial colours, preservatives or transfats so are best enjoyed the same day!

If you are going to consume them the same day, please keep the cupcakes out of the sun as the icing will melt.  Please do not refrigerate the cupcakes as it will dry them out. If you need to pick them up the day before, it's best to seal your box tightly with a plastic bag and store the cupcakes in a cool area and remove them a couple of hours prior to serving.

In the unlikely event that you have leftover cupcakes, you can seal your box tightly with a plastic bag, and freeze them. Then, when you are ready to eat the cupcakes at a later date, you can thaw them until they reach room temperature and then serve.

Nuts  — Are your cupcakes nut free?

No, our cupcakes are not nut-free.

We are not a nut-free bakery, we use nuts on the premises and do not suggest our products if you or anyone consuming the cupcakes have nut allergies.

Ordering  — Do I need to order in advance?

All pre-orders must be pre-paid. We recommend ordering at least 24 or 48 hours in advance, particularly if you have an important or larger order. The easiest and most convenient way to order is to order online using this web site as you can do that 24x7 365 days a year. The minimum online order is $30. You can also come in and place your order in person. If you do want to order by phone, we can do that Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call 613-862-0926 and select option 1. If you're calling outside that timeframe, please leave us a message, or send an e-mail. On holidays or weekends, please note that there may be a limit on the number of orders we can take, so please try to order as early as possible.

Ordering  — What are your cancellation policies?

Normally, it's a 48 hour cancellation policy for all advance orders.

Ordering — Can I order flavours that are different than those available for the day I want to receive my cupcakes?

No. While we bake some flavours every single day ("daily flavours"), we only bake certain other flavours on specific days of the week and then cycle them throughout the week ("weekly flavours") along with more seasonal flavours that we feature every month ("monthly flavours"). This said, each day, there are daily, weekly and monthly cupcakes, and up to 17 different flavours from which to choose.

Ordering  — How do I pay?

You can order online with credit card, by visiting one of our Ottawa-area stores, or over the phone Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling 613-862-0926, selecting option 1, and providing your credit card information.  We accept all major forms of payment including American Express, cash, debit, MasterCard and Visa.

Ordering — What are your payment terms for event orders?

All event orders must be at least 50% paid for in advance with either cash, credit card like American Express, MasterCard or VISA, debit, or on-line, non-refundable. Unless otherwise agreed upon, the remaining 50% is due 2 weeks in advance of the event date.

It's best to book a consultation and go over the details with us in person.

We are available for consultations at our Westboro store Mondays through Saturdays from 11 am to 3 p.m. Please note that the minimum order for a consultation is 5 dozen cupcakes and that we do not provide any consultations on Sundays.

A tasting can be arranged. Two cupcakes in the flavours of your choice are available. There is a charge at the regular retail prices but that charge to a maximum of that for two cupackes can be credited toward your order should you book with us.
